Jetty Lane is all about Community and none of it would happen without the help of others. Here are some of the people and organisations who are partnering with us to make Woodbridge a better place for children and young people:
Just42
Just42 are a charity making a positive impact on the lives of young people and children in rural Suffolk. They are the only open access youth provider in 200 square miles of rural Suffolk and last year they came into contact with about 2500 different children and young people. Through their work on different projects they build relationships with children and young people over a number of years. In this way they build confidence and self esteem, build community, reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and improve employability. Their work also increases wellbeing, school attendance and therefore results.
Just42 have their main office at Jetty Lane, currently in the two portacabins on site. They were originally tenants of the old Woodbridge Youth Centre and after it was demolished they moved into the portacabins as there was nowhere else affordable that they could go. They have been freezing there during the winter ever since!
They are very much looking forward to having a permanent, purpose-built base at the Youth Hub and we plan for them to be one of Jetty Lane’s Anchor Tenants.
Caroline Rutherford is both Just42’s Charity Manager and Jetty Lane’s Chair of Trustees.
Jason Alexander, Suffolk Green Hero
Jason is the founder of Rubbish Walks CIC, an award winning social enterprise raising awareness about the issues of littering, single-use plastics and waste in general across East Suffolk and beyond. He is also the person behind the UK’s first Vintage Litter Museum. It is currently based in one of the blue containers at Jetty Lane although once the Youth Hub is built, our plan is for him to become one of our Anchor Tenants and for the Museum to have a purpose-built, permanent home there.
Toby Robins
Toby is the Jetty Lane Collaborator and innovative thinker who dreamed up our latest project: The Grand Idea. To find out more, go to www.thegrandidea.org or watch this video:
Woodbridge Fundraising Car Wash
This is run by Farlingaye School students JB, Sam and Josh. They are studying economics and have set up their own enterprise in car washing and gardening. They give us half the money raised, how impressive is that!
Would you like to have your car washed? JB, Sam and Josh are highly recommended and have streamlined their bookings process by creating an online booking facility.

Transition Woodbridge
TW is a community-led group that aims to strengthen the local economy, reduce the cost of living and prepare for a future with less oil and a changing climate. TW works by bringing people together to discuss the problem and then to create their own collective story of the future they would like to see. A positive story of a positive future that then leads on to positive and achievable local action. Transition is not a set of answers. There are no guidelines. No rigid rules. Every community has to create its own vision and define its own priorities.
Transition Woodbridge is working with Jetty Lane to rewild part of the site during the time that it is dormant. We are grateful for funding from East Suffolk Nature First for this project.
Lucy Keany
Lucy is an experienced programme manager and producer working within the visual arts since 2008. Passionate about how arts engagement can be used to address social justice issues, she has a particular interest in radical/progressive inclusion practices, and specialist knowledge programming for diverse communities/audiences and for people with SEND and complex support needs.
Most recently, Lucy spent 8 years as the Public Programme Manager at Autograph (London), designing and delivering programmes relating to the organisation’s mission, which explores diversity, representation, human rights and social justice through photography. Autograph is one of only 6% of visual arts organisations rated ‘outstanding’ by Arts Council England, in how it meets national diversity targets for programming, audiences and workforce.
Lucy conceived the Creative Play project and is working with Jetty Lane to offer cultural and creative opportunities to children and young people on site.
